Task 5.2 Digital Bill of Rights


This Digital bill of Rights for the Internet is set out in line with universal human rights and responsibility, as well as distinctive rights in the digital environment. No discrimination shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty. Because in essence digital citizenship is everyone right. (United nations declaration, 1948)
Article 1: Freedom
Citizen have the right to open uncensored internet
Article 2: Equality
All digital citizen are equal on the internet and hold certain right and responsibility
Article 3: Participation
All Users have the right to participate, create, add and access all data on the Internet without censorship. It acts as a Right to Free Speech and an open society.
Article 4: Right to Anonymity on the Internet
All Users have the right to anonymity while on the Internet. This includes the right to create, maintain and use Anonymous Networks.
Article 5: Right to Privacy
All Users have the Right to Privacy while on the internet; the right to data security, freedom from surveillance and the right to create and use encryption
Article 6:  Restriction of Internet Access for Any Reason
The right to connect is synonymous with the right to peaceful assembly as defined in the (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 20), which states that “Everyone has the right of peaceful assembly and association.”

Therefore, no human or non-human entity shall prevent any User from connecting to the Internet. (Digital bill of Rights, 2015)
